‘Tis The Season for Soup

Long time no write! I suppose I’ll blame the holiday season, yada yada.

Breakfast today was a  Seasonal Clif bar. 004

Lunch was reheated lentil soup. Yes, I made Giada De Laurentiis’ lentil soup again. Again I forgot to halve the recipe. It makes a ton. 064

On the side I had TLC Fire Roasted Vegetable crackers and white cheddar cheese. 079 077

I also had a small juicy pear. 075

For a snack later I had a Coconut Larabar, along with coffee in my huge santa mug. In the near future I see myself trying to make my own Larabar.072

082

I might’ve also had a Whisper. 083

There is so much chocolate in my office!

I went to Whole Foods at lunch and bought a few things, including Agave Nectar, which I just tried for the first time. It tastes good, but I’ll see if it can replace white sugar long term in my coffee. That’s what I’m mostly concerned with: the amount of sugar I drink in my coffee. I don’t know if Agave is better for the teeth and gums. 089

For dinner I had the last of the coconut curry, with chickpeas, white rice, and broccoli. Plus oven roasted sweet potato chips on the side, and a beer.104

Highlights of the days I missed:

1.Waffles topped with pear and walnut (the top one is mine, but the boyfriend’s picture might be a little better – his is on the black plate.)

2. Wine and cheese spread at my parents’ house on Sunday. This is all we ate for lunch, although we had plans for a more substantial meal. Vegetables, cheese, hummus, artichoke dip, crackers, and wine. Lots and lots of wine.005 (there was more cheese than this, but my picture turned out weird…)002

Yellow baby carrots, and extremely mild radishes were the highlights of the vegetables. 004

We had Beaujolais Nouveau and Groth Sauvignon Blanc (the one we often have so I neglected to take pictures).010

3. Southwestern Grilled Chicken Salad from McDonalds.007

It’s an odd thing to be excited about, I suppose, but I had been craving this. The McDonalds close to my work doesn’t make the best salads in my opinion. There were no tortilla strips, lime wedges, and I think something else was missing. I’m just grateful for the black beans and roasted corn. Yum!

4. I made a Saints themed dip for work late last week. I confess, the fleur-de-lis was actually made by Mr. Greens. I toiled over the other 7 layers though.

I was just pleased to be able to wear my gold converse shoes. FYI – we won the office Christmas decorating contest this year. Go us!045

5. Wheat bagel sandwich – on Friday I stopped and got a whole wheat bagel with garden veggie cream cheese. I proceeded to doctor it up in a great way, by adding nice lettuce and carrots (I had a small leftover salad in my fridge that didn’t have dressing on it). It was crunchy and tasty.019 016

Must remember this combination!

6.  I tried a Peanut Butter and Jelly Mojo Bar. Hmmm…it’s sweet and salty, but doesn’t hold me over as much as I would like.

Okay I was originally going for 10 highlights, but I don’t think I have enough material. In parting, here’s a picture of me and my cat reading a book about sushi making. Very interesting, I assure you.013

That is the most beautiful 7 Layer dip! You and Mr. Greens make a good team.
ha, ha about the Whispers. How was it?
I might have had a Lindt Cappuccino Fioretto yesterday. Italians seem to appreciate consonants.

You're funny.
The whispers was ok. It hit the spot for a chocolate fix.
I thought the seven layer dip fleur de lis was cheesy, but knew my coworkers would appreciate it.

Oh, no. It wasn't cheesy at all. At least, I thought it was elegant. Maybe I've lived here too long.
